Before answering this question, you must first know the state of your health.
If you have cancer or have another serious illness, the aggressive dose (9 oz. day) is recommended. If you are currently on chemotherapy or radiation, the aggressive dose PLUS (12 oz. day) is right for you. To prevent an illness or help keep an illness from returning, use the maintenance/preventive dose of 4 oz. day.
After deciding which dose is right for you, you have two purchase options.
1) The most economical option which allows you to measure the herb yourself
2) The convenient option which arrives pre-measured for you.
With either option, it is still as simple as 1-2-3. If you can boil water, you can make this tea.
The dosages on our site are in ounces. We can also provide them in grams at your request.
If you prefer the more economical choice, order the 1 lb. packages.
Essiac in 1 lb. bags is the least expensive per pound. However, you will need to weigh the herbs on a kitchen scale approximately every two weeks when you brew the tea. Easy instructions are included. For those on aggressive dose, you'll need to weigh and use exactly 4 oz. of the mixture of herbs which will prepare one gallon of tea and last two weeks. For those on the maintenance dose, you can weigh out 2 oz. of the mixture of herbs, which will prepare 2 quarts of tea and last 16 days.
Essiac in a 1-lb. bag costs $39.99. If you buy four bags at a time, it costs $130.00 (save $30.00).
If you prefer the most convenient option, we suggest ordering the smaller 4 oz. or 1 oz. essiac packets.
No weighing is required. Each 4 oz. packet prepares exactly 1 gallon of tea and each 1 oz. packet prepares exactly 1 quart of tea. All you have to do is boil the water and pour the contents of the package in! Those on aggressive dose should order the 4 oz. packets, and those on maintenance dose, or those preparing essiac tea for pets should order the 1 oz. packets.
